Wired to create
Poetry month day 6
April is National Poetry Month or NaPoWriMo (in the United States). There’s lots of daily prompts here on Substack. Meanwhile here in the UK I’ll be attempting to write something poetic every day. Sometimes I’ll pick a prompt, other days I’ll take something from my notebook or my day to start from.
Wired to Create
Stringing me along to the next idea to write or sew or draw or build or gather together from scraps and shame. A pull of a thread that leads to piles of starts and a trail of splashes and stains on my clothes and in my thoughts. Then the end of the line. Until the next spark lights the way.
It’s Easter Monday. After a flurry of chores I am slowing down. Also I am not at home and my capacity for writing shifts depending on whether I can find a quiet spot alone. I’d like to be someone who can write anywhere, is it possible to change?
As a consequence this one is fast, not thought through. But hey, sometimes a quick burst of pressure can produce a gem I think, opening the blue notebook.
I chose the prompt by A Gentle Quill | CoraLynn 🌿 for today - Wired to Create although I’m spoiled for choice. I can’t commit to just one list, I’m hopping all over the place, delighting in my options and wanting to show support for all the poets sharing their ideas.
I enjoy playing with words and am just starting to learn more about writing craft. These pieces will be added to my Substack but not sent to subscribers as I understand that most of them are here for the beach views, not the amateur poetry! They will be added to Notes.
If you have recommendations of poets or poetry Substacks that you think I might enjoy, I’d love you to leave them in the comments.

Hi, love your photos but don't see why the two things can't meld together
